today I purchased an autoglym headlight restoration kit. according to the reviews its suppose to be ok. will have a go tomorrow. its weird that its only the o/s lamp which needs doing. maybe been changed at sometimes.

My cloudy one is on the nearside - strange indeed!

I would have said that the non cloudy lamps are newer than the cloudy ones

yes that sounds right although different makes (orig or aftermarket) may degrade differently due to quality. main thing to do when refurbing lenses is to do a tip top 100% job the first time. it will be harder to get all the years of discolouration off first time but try to aim for that. then its just a case of minor / much easier keeping up to / top surface polish every 6 months or so. the difference having nice clear lenses is amazing. not just to the light output but to the overall appearance of the car. thumbs up to good old glass lenses !
