Title: Coolant level
Post by: Omega Nige on 25 September 2017, 19:16:00
On my 3.2 I keep getting a message low coolant level. I've checked the level and it's OK. Where is the sensor so l can check it? Thanks :).

Bottom of expansion bottle. The sensor will be shagged.

New bottle with sensor is around £25 +VAT from dealer, though normally not a stock item at Kidlington.

Its a float inside the header tank ... give it a jiggle with a finger .. probably won't make any difference as they are known to fail. New header tank around £40.00 from a dealer if memory serves .. :)

Beaten to it ..  :y :y :y

To prove its the sensor, not the loom, lift bottle slightly, unplug, and short out both wires on the loom plug with a paperclip.  If that cures it, then its the sensor.

Just to manage your expectations, unless you have really abused the coolant (or had a major oil cooler fault), it will always need new bottle to resolve.
