Title: Who wants a welding job.
Post by: HNO3GOH on 08 August 2008, 20:08:50

I have been made an offer that i could not refuse so i'm picking up my new buggy next week but the buggy i am getting is a two seater made in to a four seater and i need it to be put back to a two seater. The body is made up from tubular steel and box steel and it needs the centre section that was put in taking back out. It's all welded sections and they just need cutting out and then re-welding back together.
The buggy is in somerset but if any one can help i could bring it to you if your not to far away. I'm not in any hurry as this is going to be a winter project but if any one can help just let me know.

This pic is of the one i am getting

and this is a pic of what i want

I would say it's about 20 cuts and then 10 welded sections and the guy who build's them said that i need about a 170 amp welder so that you can get lots of heat it to it.
Hope some one can help :y :y

Not sure about your choice of wheels in the second pic -- maybe you should have gone for the 4" rims   :D

The tricky part would be welding it all back on straight and square!

135-150amp would be enough for that 1.8-2mm box section!

I can't weld, but I am good with superglue! :D :D :y

Well, what's wrong with that?  They build aircraft, cars and lots more using superglue bonding agents don't they?!! ;D :D ;)
