I bought one of those cheapo tech2 interfaces from ebay and it came with some really shoddy software, but I have seen screen shots of a nicer looking version with a blue background, the supplier tells me this is the "full version" of the software he gave me..
Does anyone have a copy of this I could "Borrow"..
Cheers ;)

As far as we know, and we have searched, there is no 'full version' of the software, only the 'bugy' version.... if you happen to get one, or find out where we can buy it from, please post the details asap because quite a few of us will be VERY interested... Myself included.
EDIT *** I stand corrected... Thanks you-know-who-you-are :)

I dont suppose you could send me the version you have so I can see if its the same?
According to OnBoardDiagnostics its a pirated version of their hardware/software.
-
Maybe we are not talking about the same Tech-2 then... the one we know about is a free download, I'll post the link when I get home (I'm at work now) so you can see for yourself. Unless someone got it handy and will post it sooner.

We cannot allow discussion of distributing copyrighted software. Sorry.
Markjay - you will be getting a PM ;)

But it's a freebee.... the link is legit, not from a pirated site etc... I got the link from the German guy who sold me the Tech2, he said it's a free download?
EDIT *** On second thought I withdraw my comment, no link published. If you want to know the reason why, PM me... ;)

How far do go!!! -- could be the the " cheapo tech II" are copies [pirate] of the real ones on sale for £49?.00 now on sale with legal software in the UK.
Sad if true
:question :question :question

Supposidly its a copy of the system OnBoardDiagnostics sell for £495.

There are at least 3 versions of this software around - the original and very buggy. As this doesn't appear to have its own website, just instead existing on a few unknown sites, we cannot say whats its copyright status is. There is the commercial one, available from OnBoardDiagnostics at £490. There also appears to be an intermediate version, don't know much about it as I'm still waiting for feedback.
The copyright status of the commercial one is clear, the other two are not as clear cut.
Discussion around using the software is fine, and I think posting links as to where to get the original buggy version should be OK (unless the copyright owners tell us otherwise), but open discussion on where to acquire the commercial version without paying are a no-no. Sorry.

Do you know the name of the software and who writes it?
-
Its called Tech2 (not to be confused with the proper Tech2 that garages use), but information on who wrote or owns it seems to be sketchy. It appears to have been a Hungarian project...

I've heard talk of a company/group called Gopel but cant find anything about them.

I've just started writing a Delphi wrapper for the ELM API
