Title: Rampion wind farm
Post by: 78bex on 30 October 2017, 00:41:53
the view from the top of portsdown hill Friday afternoon was gin clear  :y

With my bino`s I could easily view all the way down to Selsey Bill.
Tracking east the  Rampion wind farm off the sussex coast was just visible.

anyone over that way  ??? 116 turbines 8 miles off shore; so what`s the view from the sussex coast like now then ???

I find these turbines at sea absolutely beautiful.  They occupy a big open space of open sea and give it something very special. :-* :-*

The wind farm off the coast from Herne Bay breaks up what would be a very boring, mundane scene.  Even the on-shore wind farm on the way down to the New Romney / Dungerness area is equally impressive, and once more occupies an area of open marshland that otherwise would be ordinarily nothing special.

As you can tell, I am in favour of them and look forward to all the new wind farms planned. 8)

Don't dare question the hysterical rush to build giant desk fans everywhere. They're the only thing that'll save us from the tree-huggers, apparently. ;)

Oh, hang on.. ::)

Pig ugly things. I can see why the NIMBYs don't like them.

If they were actually useful, I could almost see the point....

Wind farms, hybrid vehicles, congestion charges, low emission zones, they’re all going to proliferate.....save your breath.
If that doesn’t put big, fossil fuelled engines off the road, £2-3000 a year road tax might.

Got chatting lunchtime to one of the sales engineers at work
His FIL retied to a property in the  shoreham area with tranquil sea views of most of the bay up to Beachy Head
He isn`t happy Oh no, . His arguement is why the hell let E.ON build the first wind farm in the channel along a heitage coastline.  ::)

The £1.3bn project is now owned 50.1% by E.ON, 25% by UK Green Investment Bank and 24.9% by Enbridge.
Don`t be confused into thinking the government has a 25% stake in the project.
HMG flogged the Green bank to the ozzies this year  ;D

As far as I can determine that makes it 50.1% German 25% Australian & 24.9% Canadian.

Rumour has it that TB's wind farm is more of a wind factory, especially after a Lamb Naga!  ;D
