exactly. If you put the heating on when the temperature is still a pleasant 10°, what will you do when it becomes a bit chilly at freezing?
I did wear a coat last week, but it was raining when I left the house.

I hope it was only a lightweight shower proof jacket (kagoul) type. Not a full on winter type.

Ummm nothing....the boiler will just work harder getting the room temp to 21c :y At the moment it just ticks over using very little gas...

my point was that rather than acclimating to the gradually cooling autumn weather, you're setting yourself up for feeling cold whenever you go outside for the rest of the winter

We had to replace our 35 year old double glazing recently and fitted triple glazing for only 8% more than double. At the same time we insulated our living room with these http://www.ecotherm.co.uk/our_productscavity_wall_insulation_which_provides_maximum_insulation_with_the_minimum_of_thickness/eco-liner.aspx and my heating bills have dropped, considerably. Difficult to assess exactly how much as SWMBO requires more heating at her age, but I am still paying less than previously. :y

Well someone must be a expecting a bit of a chill,as I've just been out with the dog[despite the fireworks]and been passed by two gritting lorries spreading their salt :o

Bloody copy & paste. >:( ;D

I believe in equality, while SWMBO decides the cooking time and heat setting, I decide the central heating ones. :y :y :y
