has anybody got any old wishbones kicking about in the back of the garage they dont want? If so can you give them to me please?
This is with a view to pressing out old bushes and pressing in new ones. Personally im not keen to role up to a garage and and start pressing bushes without some sort of back up. So i am thinking if i had an old set i can either get the bushes pressed into those first, then i can change them on the drive as a straight swap... or if i remove my original 70k old wishbones and try to press those and something goes wrong i can at least have a pair of bones to put on the car, be they shot or whatever, at least i can get the car off the ramp.
But, then i thought, after a phew bears, if i had a set of wishbones and a set of bushes i could press them in, send to whoever needs them and they send me back the old ones, i press in new bushes and so on... An exchange service if you like.
I know pissed again... Anybody?

Beat the crap out of my old ones getting them out before I learned the fundamental truth of doing your wishbones... and that is:
Do the balljoint
1 First on the way out.
2. Last on the way in.
Do it this way and there is no need for beating anthing*.
Needless to say, you can have the next set without a scratch...
*Trolley jack required to lift the hub off and back on the balljoint

I guess i does not matter, metal construction should be the same? And we dont have a problem with wear and quality with the king pin? Or what ever its called?
