Title: Christmas present ideas
Post by: Varche on 09 December 2017, 11:46:08
Well it is that time of year again. What to get?

Well the Dyson V6 animal gtx elite st has started to show its age. Had the head off the other day and removed half of Spain from inside. Needed a T8 ? Torx to get at the workings. How many people have one of those.....

Anyway Mrs V says she will never have another Dyson, so that rules out the V12 Absolute Gti. So it will soon be added to the pile of nearly working vacuum cleaners we have that for some obscure reason, only known to men , I am hoarding.

mmm the Philips PowerPro Ultimate FC9920/69 CDX in black with silver chrome looks good, mind you so does a large box of Thorntons (Continental of course). You can't eat a vacuum cleaner.

To me that underlines their reputation for talking bollix.  :)
A possible problem with buying any vacuum now. I believe the EU directive which cut the maximum power they can use is now in force ?

Why is it that men think buying women tools and equipment for doing housework is a good thing? ::) ::) ::)

We love something for US, not to do our daily chores with!  A lovely perfume, DIOR J'ADORE Eau de Parfum Spray being my favourite (£94.00 for 100ml).  Or a lovely handbag from a designer label, like Radley, Ted Baker, or DKNY, for the cheaper ones - £150 to £300 for the larger sizes - or, really making a girl feel great, GUCCI!

These gifts will make her love you ever more.  Just stay clear of lingerie unless you really know what she loves, and dresses the same if you do not know her correct size and current tastes! :D ;)

You're being old-fashioned, Lizzie.

A petrol lawn mower or chainsaw is what the modern woman of today really wants. :) :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

As for sexy underwear.......38C breasts 'squeezed' in a 36C bra has a certain appeal. :)

So when we leave the EU can we then go back to, say, 2kw ones? ;D

Probably, if you import it from the U.S. as they wont be available in Europe. Same as it is now I suppose.
Whether suppliers will actually start selling them again in this country ? I suppose if theres a good market, people will sell them.  :-\

I believe kettles toasters and hairdryers are scheduled for the same treatment as vacuums. Now I'm as thick as pigshit, but to my mind if you reduce the power of a vacuum cleaner to say, half what it was, the user will use it for twice as long to suck up a given amount of crap, so where is the energy saving.  ???

I suspect that we will end up in the single market in all but name to keep the Paddies happy.  Which will mean abiding by all the EU's laws, rules and regulations, yet with no input or influence.  ::)  It'll amount to governance with no representation.  >:(

Vacuum cleaners from the US won't work here due to the different voltage systems.  ;)  When my mate went to live in Houston he took his fancy coffee machine and had a transformer that was bigger than the coffee machine!  ;D

mmm the Philips PowerPro Ultimate FC9920/69 CDX in black with silver chrome looks good, mind you so does a large box of Thorntons (Continental of course). You can't eat a vacuum cleaner.

We made the mistake of buying a second Dyson, the hand held type, after some years away from them, so forgot how flimsy they are. Certainly they are not built for normal use, or convenient to use with old fingers. Light to handle, but easily broken if they fall over. >:(

The EU will probably be glad to see the back of us, as I reckon we have the majority of the do-gooding morons because of our stupid society pressures.

I agree with the first sentence  :y  but I refuse to buy any Gucci item after previous experience. I bought my wife a Gucci watch, costing around £650, and after a couple of months the clasp kept popping open. It was returned under guarantee and when it was returned to us it was just the same so I modified it to stop it keep falling off her wrist. Then, the date/time knob fell off. Emailed Gucci many times and they just ignore you. Their after sales is appalling.
So, my wife has a Gucci watch that she can only wear at certain times of the year, as when the clocks change she can't change the time.  ;D

A friend of mine works as a jewellery valuer. She informed me not long ago that the movements in Gucci watches cost about 56p, pretty much the cheapest it’s possible to purchase and still make the hands go round. Clearly the rest of it is a similarly premium affair!

All of these fashion brands are just cheap watches. You pay for the name, obviously. I wouldn’t mind betting that the cheap copies are actually better watches.

Maureen was the hardest person I've known as regards presents. She couldn't wear jewellery as she was allergic to it in any form, she wasn't much of a chocolate fan and was diabetic, she didn't wear perfume and only on super rare occasions did she wear make up.I once bought her some flowers and got a million and one questions about what I'd done wrong/was going to do wrong etc. and never bought her any more ;D Finished up solving the problem by buying her nowt at all :y

Do people still wear watches? I haven't for 14 years. Plenty of ways of telling the time from the sun (big yellow thing in sky above your clouds), mobile comms, chemist shops , clocks in cars.

You get a lot for your money buying an Omega car when you consider for the same money you can buy an IKEA chipboard wardrobe.

Having worn a watch for the last forty years, for me it's the most efficient way of checking the time.  A quick flick of the wrist means I can tell the correct time without stopping what else I might be doing. As a result, I never look at clocks and find that using a phone is no better than using a pocket watch(I've got one somewhere).

I have several that I swap between:

Bought her some undies once and the crutch hadn't been stitched together. I mean, what use are they.   ::)

So what colour RR would you prefer?  Lovehoney probably do a fantastic collection.  :-X :o

A Rolls Royce; now that would be an excellent present, which I would love in two tone red and white, with a gold interior.

You can keep the Lovehoney products ;D ;D ;)

Because we love it when we get bought tools and equipment for our hobbies Lizzie!  ;D

Now that is something I can understand! :y :y

My hobby is collecting shoes ;D ;D ;)

One of my daughters hobbies is collecting trainers (along with collecting various other expensive tat). Apparently she has thirty pairs and several of them cost north of £500 !
To me, this is proof positive that all women are mad.  ;D

Easiest thing is to go through the alphabet for ideas and if that doesn't work then try double letters like AABB etc which then might even inspire an anagram of something you want. :y

TB doesn't seem the sort to want male moisturizing cream, makeup or scented things like aftershave. He comes across as more of a Kalashnikov, MLRS or Challenger II tank man for the rush hour sort of person. ;D ;D ;D

Hmmm, now that is a thought, a Challenger II tank, constant 35mph commute with no need to slow down or stop for anything. ::) ::) ::) Go for knock for knock on accident claims, he'll T-cut out the tank paint scratches, they arrange their own repairs. ;D ;D ;D At £4.2m and with a 350 gallon fuel tank the price and running costs might be out of Mrs TB's range though and there will also be 120mm shell nuisance vehicle in the way running costs as well. :o :o :o

Yes, that is a great suggestion.  If he bought a squadron of Panzers he could start to create a new English Kingdom and implement his cull plans :y :y

Compared to £4.2m for a Challenger II tank, this is a snip at £90k, a flying car.

If i shit myself, I just get on with it. It’s warm for a couple of minutes and a bit sticky for a while, then I just forget I’ve even done it, although some people tend to remind me.  ;D

Manflu is now a recognised, real illness that can strike down 50% of the population at any time, and far worse that the female variant, bird flu.

As for shitty my pants STEMO, its something I've somehow managed to avoid all my life.  I look forward to being older, so I get to experience these things :y

Corbyn is in a much better position on getting elected before TB and I'm sure he has a much bigger cull list as well. If you are not a Left-wing terrorist, Liebour politician, party member or trade unionist then you will be on the list. >:( Those that immediately admit the error of their ways by joining the Liebour party and agreeing to go on a year long intensive brain washing Common Purpose course might be spared. :(

Nothing will solve the UK's problems TB, apart from us being able to reverse the clock and eradicate the 1970's with al*l that went with it! :y
