Officially the Dealer I use that's close to the office doesn't do TC anymore, well not at that branch anyway, but they usually come up with a trade price for anything I buy. :y

at Kirbymoorside Nth Yorks I always was given trade prices. rang this morning & was told they could no longer do it. under orders from management. in the past whenever I wanted an odd gasket & they came in packs of ten or so they have let me have them at cost. I was even told 10/40 oil when stocks run out it will no longer be available

It has definitely precipitated in York when I've been there..
(Sorry, bad spelling joke ;D)

I just rang Vx Heathrow, quoted 3.2 reg and would supply a battery no problems, but at £146 retail or £124 trade. :(

Make sure its the right one (74Ahr) as the Trade Club lookup book/site is incorrect.
Sounds like that is for a GM battery, not a TC one, as I paid about £60 about a year ago for TC.

No good as I can't get TC there anymore with the account I previously used. :(

Was that the ABS account? If so, presuming you are still a member, they should take it if they do TC.

Back in July of 2017 I paid Vx £129.50 with TC for a Battery, part no. 093197903 ;)
As for the incorrect one, I can confirm that my Vx dealer originally ordered one apparently for my 3.2, but when he showed it to me it was about 2 foot long. Far too long for any Omega battery space. ;)

I've used these people for my last battery, eight years ago and still working fine

The place MigV6 (I think, apologies if wrong) suggested for batteries looked pretty reasonable, and has good reviews here and on other forums.
If only I could remember who there were to get the URL ;D
-
This is my recommendation for a cheap battery as per my post in 'So what have you done to your ..... ' :y

Was it this one? https://www.batterymegastore.co.uk/
I've used them before with good success and I'm fairly sure I got the link from here..

I recently bought a big, very pokey Bosch battery from them for my 190D, which cost just under £100. If the car runs out of fuel I can just put it in gear and drive to work on the starter motor. :)

I thought there was a minimum post count required before posting -even bad - jokes? ::) ;D ;D ;D

I bought a Bosch battery once for my Omega and the bloody thing died about 3 months after the warranty had expired. ::)
I now refuse to spend much more than £50 for a battery and so far all has been good! :y

I have myself used that method to get a car off the road, but going to work? I have got to ask, probably making myself look stupid for the second time on the Forum today, but you are joking.................aren't you? :o :o
Or is your work in the next street up from your house?
If you are being serious Migv6, to hear that any battery can power a miggy any distance before giving out all it's charge, is quite something? :y
Nah, you obviously ARE joking! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

You are having your leg pulled, Lizzie: no starter motor would withstand that sort of abuse, let alone the battery! :P

Saw it done on Scrapheap Challenge (or similar) once - two teams of massive* Navy blokes disassembling and reassembling a Beetle (IIRC) on each side of a semi detached house. One team lobbed the engine and ran it on the starter to save time and weight.
*like, leg muscles in their shoulders massive
-
Vx dealer local to me still does TC :y

Yes I was indeed joking. ;D............I is a pokey battery though. It has to be to start a 2.5, 5 cylinder engine running on old cooking oil, on a cold morning. ;)

I've had no problems, (performance or service-wise) on several car and leisure batteries bought from this firm.
