Title: Just got back from Bradford

The lad went to his second backgammon tournament today, at Napoleons casino in Bradford. Dropped him off at about 11 o’clock, same as last time in Stockport, and went home thinking I’d be picking him up at tea time. He only got to the final :o. He lost in the final, so I just got back, via McDonalds, and he’s £75 richer than he was this morning.

I haven’t broached the subject of fuel money for the 140 miles yet, I’ll leave it till the morning  ::)

Might be better to negotiate a flat rate for taxi and a % share of winnings. Could become very lucrative.

Good for him. Nice to see him doing what he enjoys in a semi social kind of situation, and costing you money at the same time. ;D
My lad joined Colchester chess club recently as it isn't far from Uni. His first game was against an 89 year old bloke who gave him a thrashing. Turned out he was the former Nigerian (I think) chess champion.
Second game was against a 10 year old girl, who happened to be Russian. He beat her, but only just.  ;D

My lad used to play chess and was pretty good. But you’ve got to be dedicated to really get anywhere and I think it made his brain hurt a bit.  ;D

I'm sure he will understand £74.99 is very reasonable for 140 miles. ::) ::) ::) :P :P :P
