Title: A couple of torque settings required
Post by: Figureman52 on 02 February 2018, 13:08:07
Apologies if this has been posted before, but having searched I can't find the information.

Please can anyone give the torque value for the oil pressure switch with the integral alloy washer? It appears the value with the copper washer is 40Nm but is it different for the integral alloy washer?

Is there a torque value for the aux belt tensioner pulley bolt please.

Thank you.

I wouldn't worry too much about either. 40Nm seems pretty high to me, mine has been on for about 4 years on little more than a tweak with a spanner.

Its a standard switch used on loads of engine types, 20Nm is used on most of the 4 pots

40nm is indeed quoted in the Haynes manual for the oil pressure switch, but it doesn't say with what type of washer. No value is quoted[in the Haynes]for the auxiliary belt tensioner pulley bolt only for the tensioner bolts[presumably meaning the bolts holding the tensioner body to the engine] at 35nm.
