Title: Rear seats
Post by: Jonmabbitt on 04 February 2018, 13:48:29
Hi all been going over my omega estate I brought last week and I can't get the rear seats to unlock/ fold flat the buttons won't press in. Is their any way I can get them down without destroying the clips or breaking them as I take the kids in the car and when we go camping the kisses takes the kids in the zafira and I get all the camping gear lol
Thanks

They do require some pressure to push down. Use your thumbs and press very hard. Sometimes pushing on the back rest whilst pushing down the button helps. Unusual if both sides are stuck.

The buttons feel solid and the latch in the middle that you can slide feels broke. I've put wd40 down the press down ones  tried pushing the seats backwards as I press to no joy. I've had some luck in getting the middle seat belt working as I forgot to say that stopped working. I might have to break the clips off around the switches as much as I don't want to

That will achieve nothing...

Remove the two small squares from the boot side trims and undo the torx bolt each side, then fold them as required.

Refit and tighten the torx screws before reusing the seat as otherwise the backrests will NOT be secure.

There's a guide for sorting the centre seat belt. Once the backrest releases start messing about, there isn't an easy fix, and what you can do is limited to dismantling the seat and fiddling around... Everything is cable controlled and the hinges also have a safety lock on them, so thinking about it, for my previously suggested bode to work, you'll need to undo the hinge plates from the floor first :-\

First, push the seat back as you push the button in, also check the lock button between the 60/40 split is unlocked.
