Title: A first time MOT pass for the big red pussy.

No advisories. :y I was pretty sure it would fail on the headlight aim being set too high.

The car  will shortly be three years old so I've arranged to have her next service using the 3+ Jaguar scheme.

The service would have been around £400/£500 depending on negotiating skills but with the 3+ scheme the price drops to £225 which I don't think is any more than a Fiesta/Mondeo/ Corsa/Insignia would cost to service at a main dealer.

They will also supply an overnight loan car........in my case an XE-R Sport 180 which I sadly discovered runs on narrow boat fuel. :-\

Not driven an XE though so it may be interesting. :y

They are a superb chassis, best in class and a very competent drive, the entry level 2.0 Turbo petrol at 200bhp is very good and the 180 diesel will be quite respectable.

They do have a quite a blind spot on the B post though and rear leg room is much less then the X260 (probably not that different to your X250)

It looks like the 2 litre derv lump can be had in 'up to' 240 BHP guise. Which should make it agreeably quick. :y Not sure how much the remap would cost but it seems tempting.

So if you get the 163/180, basically just style difference with rear tail pipe etc.

I'm guessing you've driven fatty admins XJ, is there significant difference in ride quality between X260 XF and XJ?

That may change soon, whenever you are available, as I would appreciate your opinion on a road speed dependent noise, but doesn't seem to change when turning either way....

DTI tuning claim they can take the 163 BHP version to 213 BHP for £369 with a tuning box. They also claim an extra 80 NM of torque.

Then you can watch the usual issues with fuel in the sump after regens which happens all to often on their boxes (given they just bodge the rail pressure and manifold pressure sensor signals)  :y :-[
