Maybe a sill question but do people use Bosch super four spark plugs or are they consider crap now. Does any one no if there is much point in mapping my 2.0 I no I wouldn't see a massive gain but just after abit better acceleration and maybe better fuel economy as seems to be a little worse than the 2.2 I had
Cheers
Jon

I've always use triple plugs, the multiple legs ensure the contacts don't wear out too quickly, but just having 3 not 4 ensures that the spark is not "shielded" from the mixture to any great extent (remember that only one "leg" ever works at a time .. one leg - one spark - one tiny bit of erosion)
Probably well out-of-date thinking, but it's what I was taught many years ago ... and no reason to change my thinking AFAIK .. :)
-
I always use twins, and they normally come a bit loose before they are worn out.
GM ones normally, due to cost.
-
Mine also has twins in it,although in my case they're NGK plugs.
-
Ok thanks guys I'll look at twins and triples is there any updates that cane be done on the auto box or ecu as she feels abit slugy when notin sports mode and I no the 2.0 engines aren't bad as the vectra I had was same engine and felt a lot smoother n more poke to it

The Vectra is fwd so has not got the extra parts to move, plus weighs about 1/2 tonne less.
My old Cavalier with the x20xev was the same.
I use twin electrode spark plugs from GM as they are cheap enough on trade club.

Thanks would a map held due to the weight it's not slow but when u know ur 18year old brothers 1.0turbo first will keep with it to a certain point unwanted abit more grunt
-
There’s no point trying to improve performance on a 2.0.
Get a v6 :y

What he said. :y ^

As an owner of a 2.2 for over a decade, I'd defend the 4 pot to the hills, they are reliable, trusty, smooth for I4, easy to work on engines and haul the Omega along "fine".
But the V6 just makes things effortless and does significantly change the dynamic of the car, I'm busier at work these days and getting tired into the 3.2, it's effortless performance makes drive home easy.
-
You have to drive them hard though, least that's what I've found. As family a saloon driving/pottering around with wife and kids on board, does not make them come alive.
But in a car share though, driving 2 or 3 days a week with no regard for fuel use (binary throttle!) and it's changed my opinion on the 3.2 considerably. 8)

Haha thanks I'd love a v6 but no money to upgraded. If I had the money I'd put the 2.0turbo lump in to be different
-
Don't the later V6s use four electrode plugs? Seem to recall asking a similar question on here once, in the assumption/belief that they were somehow 'better', but was told the increase in electrodes was simply for service intervals, not for any performance gains.
Always liked the idea of a 2.0 turbo Omega :y suspect that this would have made a bizarre conflict for Vauxhall salesmen with two models in the range with about 200bhp. :-\

Not really, GM recommended them but only for life of service. General advice is stick with twins :y

I just ordered 6 Bosch single electrode plugs for my v6 for £11
They will be just fine for the service interval.
It’s not a racing car ::) :y

I prefer the twins, as singles shield spark more. But then a) I use LPG, b) Loo-knee say I "drive like a cock" ;D

You'd be surprised at how many tasks involve the dropping of the engine via the longer engine bolts.
And you do need a tool to remove the HT leads clicky (http://mccormicktools.co.uk/sealey-spark-plug-lead-tool-vag-vs5293.html?fo_c=2180&fo_k=522daaa5f3ff6c1c702178771439e396&fo_s=gplauk&gclid=Cj0KCQiAiKrUBRD6ARIsADS2OLltY1_Y7ho5sd3Po-G0RYDNij86UIZ2_kXRWg89l_V-aL3gUkBkrh8aAoHnEALw_wcB)
