Come to realise the “non-smooth” leather seats are getting quite rare. That’s an 03 and it’s got the smooth stuff.
-
'Tis a lovely looking car but, you'd have to be a very capable spanner twirler to take on one of these old girls now.
-
Thats a good price for that imo. In the best colour too.

Somebody had their collar felt then if a cam belt & water pump set them back £1000 ???

Plus top end rebuild, but why? :-\

Cambelt left too long and it went bang ?

I know the 2.6's were known to suffer with valve guide oil seals, are the 3.2's similar?
I am genuinely gutted, I saw this last night, about 1 hour after the manual box Omega was taken :-\

...... after the manual box Omega was taken :-\
You don't want a 3 pedal Omega ......

I know the 2.6's were known to suffer with valve guide oil seals, are the 3.2's similar?
No. Our experience is that this just affected a batch of 2.6 engines of around 2001 vintage.

Did they make a 2.6 that wasnt of the 2001 vintage?

Mr Beanz is correct.
I owned a 2.6 manual with a gearbox designed by Massey Ferguson.

Later model years (2002, 2003) don't seem to suffer so I'm guessing it was a defective batch of stem seals.

Think the 2.2 needs a manual, had one for 12 years, great car. The manual is not the best experience though :(
I will however admit that the full fat 3.2 and auto totally transforms the car, into an effortless powerful cruiser.

.....
Think the 2.2 needs ...
.... another 2 cylinders & another litre ;)

It's not me, Albs, so that's one off your list.

It's blown and has no TC... But is an absolute animal 8)

Agreed, the 2.2 auto requires Zen-like patience!

I found my 2.2 Sport auto perfectly acceptable for making progress, but actually quite a tidy handling car... LSC and no servotronic being the suspected reasons why.
My current manual 2.2 is flat at the top end, but I am not 100% sure if the timing is right as it struggles to rev over 4,500 ??? Something which will be addressed once the MoT is passed. Fitting the inlet and turbo from the Astra Gsi... is on the option list at some point in the future, although if it fails horrendously on rusty bits, then the engine could have a second wind in summat else :-\
