Title: Noisy neighbours
Post by: BazaJT on 26 April 2018, 07:59:52
Thankfully not on our street-nor even close. Was out with the dog last night and a couple of miles from home I began to hear a noise which got louder the further I went.Turned out someone was having a barbecue or something in their back garden and one of the participants was playing the bagpipes :D

And I'm sure it was a beautiful sound!  :P
My 12 year old son is a piper with our local band.
I can PM some clips if you'd like.  ;D :D ;D

I'm sorry Ross, but to southern ears it is NOT a beautiful sound - rather like a thousand tomcats being castrated!
Er, no offence intended..... :)

Well, it was used to scare the enemy on the field of battle and by many accounts it worked! :D

I do love the sound of well played bagpipes though! :y

I like lots of bagpipes playing together, not so keen on a single piper.

You can't beat a bit of pipe and drum to stir the soul.  It still makes the hair on the back of the neck stand up.

Northumbrian pipes are a lot less "harsh" than Scottish ones ( runs for cover )  :y

It's not that I mind the sound of bagpipes per se but there's a time and a place for listening to them and I'd sooner it wasn't next door at 7pm[thankfully it was a couple of miles away from my place :y]

Can't see why it would be a problem for the immediate neighbours as would have all been scared off. ::) ;D

I know the Jocks love to revel in their och-eyness, but a pipe band in full swing is damned impressive
