Heard a rumour that the cut off date for cheap tax was now march 01 :-\
.gov site needs the 11 digit code off your V5 but mines gone walk about :(
-
My Direct Debit got renewed for 1st June, I'll check in about an Hour when I get back.
-
£320, rings a bell. :o
For the privileged of killing polar bears, and melting the ice caps (according to government boffins)
-
£27.56 pm payable by 12 month direct debit total 330.75, now all I need to do is find out what I was paying last year.
-
Mine Desmond was £26 plus change a month.
All post Feb '01 petrol Omegas fall into Band K with the pre March '06 exemption :y
Interestingly, as an aside, because this cut off date is something like March 11, 2006 there's the potential to buy some quite interesting '06 registered cars without getting bent over for the higher rates...
-
I thought it'd be about £290 if paid in a lump sum, sounds like I was wrong. There's a govt. website you can access to check VED rates.

They whack a lump on as interest for good measure, although not as much as they used to... Full, single payment is £304ish without looking ;)

About right if yours is a 3.0, pre 2.6,3.2 Rates.
-
Smile when you pay it because I've just paid € 374 (£327) for SIX months for my 2.0 over here in this simple little country. >:(
-
Mine is indeed a 3L[but a year 2000]and as I pay it monthly it's costing me just over £20 per month-I think as a lump sum it'd have been about £220 for year, which is why I thought next "step up" was £290.Seemingly this is not so though.

The Omega Tax break for increased after 2001, about the time they went 2.2,2.6,3.2

Thank f**k for that
Had visions of a 500 quid road tax bill next month ::)

£500 insane rate, only after mid 2006 :y
2001 they changed a tad, but not much. My 2000 plate 2.2 at the time, cost less to tax than Father T's 2001 plate 2.2

True. I can VED both 3.2 and Zafira for less than a crappy Signum as well. :D
-
I pay £46.81 each month for both the mighty Signum and my other car.
So £46.81 x 12 = £561.72.... :'(
£561.72 x 2 = £1123.44..... :'( :'
Little wonder I'm so piss poor.

Yes. Sadly the 'crappy Signum' was manufactured in 2007. :-\
-
Cars should be taxed on their value rather than their Co2 emissions.
This way the mighty Signum would be cheap to tax. :y
-
my 2.6 saloon date of first registeration January 2002 is in Tax band K. CO₂Emissions: 276 g/km according to Government Tax and MoT site.
Band K Includes cars with a CO2 figure over 225g/km but were registered before 23 March 2006.
Single 12 month payment £315 Single 12 month payment by Direct Debit £315 Total of 12 monthly instalments by Direct Debit £330.75

That is a bit expensive. But you are helping an unemployed person towards their sky subscription. Gives you a nice warm feeling when you think about it like that. :)

Some say.... compared to the age of the Earth the dinosaurs have been gone a relatively short time. Do you mean 'relatively' in those terms?. :)

I'm younger than some and older than some. I can do things some people half my age can't do and I can't do things some people much older than me can do. I am happy with my lot and, in the end, that's all that matters really....isn't it? :)

Ah.....memories of family holidays in WSM as a nipper. 8)
It's a place where the sea never properly comes in. By the time we reached the water it was time to go home. 8)
Don't recall any tall oriental gentlemen from the land of the slitty-eye though. :)
