Heineken. :)
I know its overpriced water and chemicals and tastes like it has been carefully extracted from the bladders of billions of gnats, but its my new favourite. 8) :) ::)....................

Is that the stuff brewed in webby land?
If so, I think that's the river my piss and shit ends up in ;)

Did someone give you a load for nowt? Or have you welded over one of the holes in your car with a Heineken tin?
-
I tend to drink 5% lager rather than the three point something per cent pissy stuff.
Most taste very similar. The exception being Hop house 13 that has a distinctive 'hoppy taste' :y

Younger people prefer Hip Hop House.

Its better than that. A few days ago swmbo mentioned that I might want to buy some cans of Heineken on the way to work, but it must be from Tescos.
I thinks, this is obviously something to do with one of her competitions. I was correct.
She sent a text from her phone to Heineken, and instructed me how to do the same. Yesterday we both received texts which said "congratulations, you have won a pair of grandstand seats at the British grand prix at Silverstone on 8th July, and a years free subscription to the Heineken TV app" (whatever that is.)
I think the tickets are valued around £260 each and we got four. :)
I shall sound my horn very loudly as I pass TB towers at 6am, on the 8th July, as I will be drinking his piss for the next week. :P
My previous favourite recently has been Hop house 13. Quite a nice flavour to it. :y

Well done, Mrs Albs :y
Now.....about you saying how shit F1 has become and how boring the races are ::) ;D
-
It's a shame the grid girls have gone.
Feminists 1.......Common sense 0. :-\
-
I certainly wouldn't pay that kind of money to watch it, but Hamilton is in my all time top three driver list, so it will be nice to actually see him driving in the flesh (almost).
Last time I went was 1982, when the tickets were around £25 (a couple of days wages) and then the kids came along, I couldn't afford it, and then got out of the habit of going.
-
I was taken to watch an F1 GP as a young kid......I'm pretty sure it was Silverstone but could be wrong.
Anyway. The race was won by Jim Clark so you can tell it didn't happen yesterday.
-
Well, the tickets arrived yesterday. It turns out they are platinum tickets for Abbey grandstand which is just before the first corner, with a good view of the start / finish straight and the pits. Also included are vouchers for free food, beer, T shirts, and entrance to some after race party or other.
Wouldn't get much change out of two grand for the four of us if we were stupid enough to pay with our own money.
Just got to suss out free parking now. ;D

Sounds nice. Not sure I'd have drunk TheBoy's pee to go, but not knocking it. ;D
-
Result! :y :y
Green with envy.
-
Forgot to add, if you need a last minute substitute (or two) , I will be happy to oblige. Otherwise I will be watching it on Tv with my brother in Yorkshire.

Hop House 13 would taste different... It’s a “Craft Beer”, not a Lager ;)
-
It definitely doesn't taste like Lager (much nicer), but it does say Lager on the label for some reason. :-\

Nothing wrong with a bit of watersports Kevin. :D

Already have a volunteer substitute ready and willing to hop on a plane from Belfast. :)
-
Oh!
Well the offer is still there of reserve back up substitute.
Look forward to comparing notes on Monday if I am not called up.........
-
:y ;D

I don't drink alcohol so it doesn't worry me what they taste like...

Some of the craft beers at £1.29 0.5l are very good at Aldi, a couple of my favourites are "Wild Bill's IPA" at 5% and "Old Empire IPA" at 5.7%, both have a very hoppy flavour. :y
While the weather is hot I don't mind drinking, ice cold, one of the German brewed lagers as they are brewed according to the German purity laws and have a reasonable flavour. At the moment I'm drinking Lidl's Perlenbacher Pils at 4.8% and 89p for 0.5l. :y You can split a pack & buy them individually, but it always seems so much easier to me to buy the full 18. ::) ::) ::)
-
A fly has appeared in the ointment. All parking and even the park& ride at Silverstone are completely sold out. :o
Might have to look at the cost of being helicoptered in. ::) ;D

I bought a fridge pack (12 tins) of Brewdog Punk IPA today, 5.6% and that too has a nice hoppy taste :y

Damn . If only I had a helicopter.....
A suggestion would be to ring the organisers and explain your (platinum) plight. They must have contingencies for people in your situation.
-
Phone up Heineken and tell them that if Carlsberg did Silverstone prizes...... ;)
-
No good phoning Heiniken they'll all be out on safari hunting for wild CO2's :D So they can keep brewing the stuff :P

Yup...
It's called win a really cool prize that you can't actually use...
Win win... You win a prize and they spend zero on all the hospitality you can't get too :D
-
Can't you use the TB park & ride service from Brackley? :y

Good idea! :y
Turning up in a chauffeur driven Jaaaagyouarrr beats turning up stinking of chip fat! ;D

That sounds like a nice plan. Im sure he wouldn't mind cancelling next weekend to accommodate me. ;D
Actually,Mrs Mig has managed to book the very last parking place in a local farm where you walk over a footbridge to the circuit entrance. :)
-
Let's hope the race result is better than todays.
-
If it isn't I will be on my way home before the chequered flag comes out. ;)
