Title: Total newbie question about yellow dash light....
Post by: mark34bn on 26 May 2018, 14:00:38
Hi guys, after test driving my new 2.6 Omega I noticed a yellow warning light on the dash.. Under the rev counter there are ten warning lights - it's the top right hand one which looks like a gear cog. I've googled it but can't find a description of each light.
Hopefully it's nothing major as the car drove without fault. I turned the engine off and restarted it and the light did not come back on.
I've asked the garage to check it out before I pick the car up next week.

Press the button on top of the gearlever.

As Nick says   it is the "Sport Mode" indicator light . Hence the "S" inside the cogwheel. Sport mode is switched on & off by pressing the button in the top of the auto gear selector lever . Read the handbook for explanation of what it does .  But basicly holds the gears longer before changing up when giving it some welly  ;D ;D ;D

When new there was a white "S" on top of the gear lever  . . .these wear & disappear with use & time.   ;)

Blimey haha! At least it isn't a problem!
I was playing around trying everything to see if it all worked and must have pressed it by mistake.
Thanks for the replies.
