I've been doing my house insurance this evening. ::)
My renewal from Swift Cover was £136.ish which was OK, but as I wanted a different level of cover this year I started from scratch at GoCompare. The best quote there for what I wanted was £183.ish. :o
So I go to Direct Line as my car insurance is there, £163.ish. Better. :y Off to Aviva as I'm a shareholder. £172.ish. Pish! :P
I was about to go with DL as I thought it was OK, but then thought I'd try the Meerkats! Although I didn't think it would be any better than GoCompare. LV £116.ish! Wow! :y
I then did the quote again via TopCashBack and got £7.ish cashback so my house insurance premium this year is £109.ish with better cover than last year!! :y :y :y
You've gotta shop around! :)

That's expensive for a barn. ;D

Nice one. :y

Insurance and utilities give the best cashback. They must assume that once you are a customer, inertia will keep you there! Completely ignoring the fact that you only joined for the cashback, and as a cashback tart will disappear next year! ??? ??? ???

I've clearly gone up in the world as it used to be said on here that I live in a cave! ::) ;D

I've been doing cashback for just over a year and anything I buy online, I usually check if I can do it via cashback. I've had about £100 so far! :y

Don't forget you live in the crime ridden North (midlands) as opposed to a retirement village ;)

;D I think it's the buildings part, largely - the house had some remedial work for slippage in the 1980s (as did the neighbouring houses when a main drain collapsed) so the mainstream insurance companies won't touch it..
