Title: Media Negativity
Post by: Sir Tigger KC on 23 June 2018, 13:56:11
As we all know the media love a good negative story and especially the left leaning media who constantly bombard us with doom and gloom!  >:(

Here's a good one form Auntie Beeb!  Anyone spot what's wrong with this article?  ???

Gideon in his last budget massively increased stamp duty on the highest band and likewise with cars. :( The end result for both has been less duty raised where the number of sales have greatly decreased. This is what happens when Government's are so greedy all their taxes are the wrong side of the Laffer curve and raise less than the optimum. :( This is why they are looking for new taxation classes and revenue streams, so expect many new 'guilt' taxes over the next few years where they have started with sugar, but this a tree hugger low hanging fruit dream area with little likely resistance from more 'nanny statism' taxes. :(

Trouble is, the democratic government can't do what is needed, which is to stop spending it on the silly things (itself, NHS, the idle and lazy, and so on).

Additionally, as a significant proportion of the electorate are some of the thickest mammals every discovered, they seem to think that "the rich" should pay for everything, without realising there aren't enough of "the rich" to do so, and they get all excited when "the rich" get hit with ever higher taxes and can't see that actually reduces revenue into the treasury.

This NHS wank, which will be "fair", won't be fair either.  It won't be paid for by those who use it (that's fair), but again the taxes will be from "the rich", and no doubt done in such a way that will mean it won't work, but the thicko masses will be like safari park chimps over it.

Might I add, TB, that the NHS is hugely funded from unreasonable and unfairly applied motoring taxes; in particular the Road Fund Licence*  >:(

Ron.

*Yes, I know what we are supposed to call it now, but it still is RFL in everyone's eyes and was not agreed to be vired off by us anyway.

Motorists are an easy target, as the do-gooders think we should walk/cycle everywhere.

Then who would pay for their shit?
