On normal driving everything runs fine. If i give it a boot full to overtake or just to get on i find my cats are stinking of rotten eggs. Does this mean my cats are shot. :'(

I know it used to be said that the smell of rotten eggs was a sign the cat/s was/were fubar. How true this was I don't know.Is there a local friendly mot garage that could do an emissions test on it?if so this might give you some idea as to the state of play perhaps?

Battery cooking smells like rotten eggs too.

BMW's have had a lot of recent issues with batteries :-X
What model/training is it?

It had a new battery 2 years ago. It smells from the outside not from inside the cabin.

Jason m posted a photo of his company BMW that had a battery issue, the trumptons were assisting at the time.

Dodgy fuel?

But if the alternator is shoving in 16v, it will soon knacker it, and make it smell of 1990s eggs.
Get a meter on the battery using Kevin Woods guide to rule it out.

Its hydrogen sulphide, smells like rotten eggs, it’s what you get when you’re pushing on....
flat out....... cleaning the cat, keep up with the good work give it a good booting now and then and all will return to normal :)
