Title: Radiator
Post by: astroblaster on 22 August 2018, 14:49:47
Hi all my car is a 52 plate 2.6 auto, and I'm trying to get a new radiator the part no is 52482600 which comes with the oil cooler built in.

The problem I have is that my radiator doesn't have a built in oil cooler it is separate, according to Vauxhall this is incorrect for my car, any ideas

Thanx John

Not sure I follow, the auto's as I recall have the oil cooler built into the side of the rad. With ATF inputs, to cool the fluid.

How is yours currently cooled? It's sent to a separate cooler?  :-\

IIRC facelift cars have a separate cooler, the advice on here is to fit whichever radiator and just ignore the extra connections on the radiator (and continue using the separate cooler if you have a facelift)

yes its a facelift as far as I know, the radiator fitted doesn't have the oil cooler bits at the side, its a separate cooler

Changed rad on my 2003 few weeks ago .

Oil cooler is separate and fed by 2 pipes clearly visible once plastic rad slam panel cover is removed .Its a small radiator which is bolted across the front of main coolant radiator .

I bought a Nissenn radiator and was a near perfect fit even down to the machined threaded fixing

Surely this idea of a separate cooler can't apply to all facelift cars?My F/L 3L doesn't have one and assuming the radiator I changed on it not long ago was the original it never has had.

For the pendants, facelift in this case means the DBW cars ;)
