Todays bikes are very powerful and awesome pieces of kit,but when you see those classic bikes they're in a different league.Who can argue with a two strke Yam in that yellow/white livery? The three cylinder MV Agusta of the hailwood/Agostini era or indeed the Manx Norton? and the guys are actually racing them they're not just out for a steady trundle round the circuit :y

Not to mention the Triumph Trident Slippery Sam that won five consecutive 750cc production TT races between 1971-75 or the rotary Nortons with Steve Hislop winning the 1992 Senior TT.

Josh Brooks was on the Norton rotary this year but sadly it didn't finish :-X Steve Parrish talked to the owner of a late '60's Benelli which had finished second in '67 or '68[it broke down in the other and I can't recall which way round they said]and they'd been offered half a million quid for it-which they considered an "interesting starting point" :o

A late neighbour down the road from me used to classic race an MV 250, which in his engineering workshop he tuned and converted from a parallel twin to a 180deg one. His son who he left it to has been offered silly money for it but as was his dad's pride and joy, hell would freeze over before he would, quite rightly, ever part with it. :y :y :y
