Title: Key programming?

I have had to get another circuit board for my 03 2.6 key fob as the buttons on the old one were broke.  It will open the doors and the boot but will not lock.  I have tried these so called home fixes for programming the key yourself on the internet but none of them work.
I live in Gillingham Kent and just wonder if there is anyone out there that would know where to go to get it sorted.

Was the replacement remote new? If not I would suspect that it's got a knackered switch. MSC keep new ones in stock at a good price, and don't need the car pass to program them.

Presumably the "replacement" doesn't work at all.  The ATWS/Central Locking (depending on spec) needs programming to accept the fob.

And the original doesn't lock, but everything else is OK? So knackered switches, which is an easy repair for anyone who can hold a soldering iron.


Some places can clone the existing fob, which is fine if you only need 1 key. Else its hassle with carpass etc.

Many thanks to Nick W and "TheBoy" for your help.  I will be phoning them on Monday morning, they have to be cheaper than the £149.00 that Timpsons at Hempstead Valley want.
