Just of late-since the last update thing windows 10 do-when I click on a topic/section/another page it sometimes comes up in top left corner of screen "waiting for response" and then after a few seconds the screen will just go blank other times there'll be a short delay before the page appears. This doesn't happen on other forums/e bay/other sites so I don't think it can be a problem at my end,but if not what's causing it?
-
Must say I haven't had that problem, although Windows 10 updates come through regularly :D ;)
-
The underlying servers that power OOF had a bit of a meltdown late last week. But no alerts currently, and all looking good for me.

Yes Lizzie I get the regular Windows updates-usually in a morning when it says don't turn off the computer and I need to be setting off to work! TB I recall you posting about needing to do something with regards the forum, but apart from anything else this was happening before then. This morning it didn't do it and all was as it normally is yet tonight it's done it once so far ??? Not to worry it's odd but I can live with it :y

I'd be seeing what browser hijacks are installed.
Actually, I wouldn't break around, I'd just rebuild it

Ah but you know what you're doing with such things whereas I haven't got the vaguest idea.I know it's a Lenovo[it says so on the lid]laptop and it's on Windows 10 after that I'm lost.

Lesson 1. Computers are shite pieces of kit that rarely do what their supposed to do.
Lesson 2. See lesson 1.

Lenovo
Consumer grade? (ie, not ThinkPad).
They used to side load buggy, insecure software, so ensure your BIOS is always updated.
Pesky, crappy chinky shite.

Agreed, but what can you do when a certain local authority issues the consumer grade ones to all it's council officers, headteachers, etc. and then harps on and on about how security conscious we all should be.
They probably got a container load for fifty quid or something.

You're at the mercy of Lenovo to actually fix the flaws (or stop the sideloading of buggy, insecure, open software that runs with elevated privileges). Until then, you've got your pants around your ankles, and anyone on the Internet can butt raped you. And there is SFA you can do about it, except never connect it to *any* network.
There was a school of thought that this was a purposeful attempt by government interferers to gather information. Rods2 would love it ;D. Obviously Lenovo deny that.
So keep the BIOS updated, as Lenovo claim they are fixing all these flaws as fast as they can.
