I posted a while back about a friend of mine buying a 5.3 V12 Jag XJS, well he has come across his first repair, so he's got himself on to a Jag forum and asked the question about the cruise control on his car as it's not working, and after two weeks has had no reply's.
All he knows is that there is that there is about 20 parts that make up the cruise control and one of them is the one at fault but which one.
I said i would ask on here for him so can anyone help ;)

Best advice I could offer him is to buy a Miggy. :y :y :y

Not me, but you could PM Markie - he has a Jag, not quite a V12 but may well be of some help.

I love Jags. Had a s2 4.2 years ago & a mate had the 5.3. It's a classic car that needs driving/running accordingly. If it's difficult or expensive then suff the cuise control, it's only a gimmick, just enjoy the car. :y

AH. There are some guys in Coventry who break / restore all types of Jag's but I cant remember there company name. I will make a few calls next week.
1) thing I can remember about them is the rear shocks were rubbish (Girling gas type) bounced all over the road.
Oh yer 8 MPG is normal :D

That would be great, thanks :y
With his lead foot it will be more GPM than MPG ;D ;D
I did try and get him to buy a mig but he wanted the Jag.

Ha Ha I like the GPM reference lol. Wonder if u can convert a Jag to LPG without someone spitting on u lol?

Indeed Amigo! :y
Although I do occassionally take advantage of it, if it was going to cost a lot to repair I would not bother with c/c for the relatively few times you can actually use the thing on our very congested roads. ;)

First port of call with non working cruise.......is check the clutch/brake switches/wiring......even if its auto, probably will still have the clutch switch 'shorted out'.
Its a prob with cruise....that peoples shoes/boots can disturb the switches/wiring on the pedals.....
Might not be the prob but easy to check :y
