Should we be concerned?
Will it just end with a bit more land grab? In this case the waters of the Sea of Asimov.

At some point the civilised world is going to have to stand up to Putin. The longer they leave it, the harder its likely to be.
Having said that, the Ukraine / Russia situation was relatively stable until the EU sponsored and supported the overthrow of the elected Govt. in Ukraine and gave Putin the excuse to do what he is doing.Non of the politicians involved are good guys by any means

Russian men between the ages of 16 and 60 are not allowed to cross the border from Russia into Ukraine, as the Ukrainian's obviously fear another stealth invasion like Crimea where Putin sent in the 'Little Green Men' :(

If you are going to talk about Ukraine in any meaningful way I would suggest you don't repeat Putin's active measures ad verbatim. If you knew what you were taking about you would know this started ramping up in 2000 under Putin's first presidency which lead to him trying to get Yanukovych elected through electoral cheating & the Orange revolution where the Ukrainian Constitutional Court annulled the election. But Putin was not deterred & with Paul Manafort's help got the thug Yanukovych elected. Yanukovych immediately started plundering the country for his own gain and amassed through large scale theft $2-$4bn of other wealth, property & businesses using the state's governing & legal apparatus for his own gain. I know people that were caught up on both sides of this & his presidency was never going to end well. However, you are correct that the EU association agreement ended up as the focal point on all sides dissatisfaction for what was happening in Ukraine.
The worst day in Putin's life was the fall of the Berlin wall, the fall of the USSR & independence of the satellite Eastern Bloc. Putin wants to rebuild the Russian empire & is doing a bad job of it. 2008 Georgia invasion is a fail and likewise 2014 Ukraine invasion is also a fail. Ukraine as a result is pulling further & further away from Russia & has recently split from the Russian Orthodox church which is part of Putin's state control apparatus. This has lead to the current round of problems which is why Russia has been amassing tanks on the Ukrainian border since late summer & why Ukraine has now invoked martial law in the 10 Oblasts facing Russia. Whether the tanks are for intimidation or a full invasion we will find out in the next 8 weeks. Putin knows that Russia is an empire with Ukraine & a country without. Ukraine is much better equipped & trained than it was in 2014 & were always the premier Cossacks & warriors as part of the Russian empire, so if there is a war expect it to be a very bloody one for both sides which might spill over into WWIII.
