Title: CID TO GID
Post by: djahac on 27 February 2019, 05:28:11
Hi,  I have ncdc 2011 in my car and my CID screen is broken so i need a new one. I have found a complete ncdc 2015 with GID and phone. Can i just swap it or it needs to pe de- paired from donor car? Changing a unit and screen is not a problem but would it work strait forward?

Thanks

If you take it out complete from the donor car then it will be fine, just needs to be installed complete so that your not mixing any parts.

If poss try and get the Audio Pass from the Donor car, this may help you out in the future with any required Tech2 work that may be needed.

NCDC2015 will have a telematics.  From memory, the system will still work without the telematics plugged in without complaining about security.

As Zirk says, try to get the pairing code with the donor one, as it might be useful in the future, in case you ever need to swap bits.

Got a 2015 CID  installed in my car without any telematics, and it works fine, just as a 2013 would do as far as Im aware. :y

I think it depends how it left the Factory and when (Year), Ive had an early'ish NCDC2015 which kept bleeping at me when I didnt fit the Telematics (and stopped bleeping when I finally got around to fitting it). On another occasion I removed a working Telematics from a late 3.2 expecting the 2015 to start complaining and bleeping at me and it didnt batter an eye lid, worked fine without the Phone part.  :-\

Thanks for info, ill try to install ncdc 2015 without telematics because i have no connector behind glove box. Or is some diy how to connect it? I can still remove connector from donor car. Hope it works without it :D

You will almost certainly have the connector on your loom. It will be taped up behind the glovebox.

Pop the glove box out and have a rummage  :y

No that's the Telephone pre-wiring connector taped up behind the glove box, it's the wrong style of connector and lacks the CAN pair for the Telematics.

No, just reconfigured it from Diesel to 3.2 v6, as the readings were all over the place. Also changed the logo from Opel to Griffin.  :y

Nope, there will not be a 36pin connector in cars not specced with a ncdc2015.
