A newbie has commented on having a "R" reg Senator "3.3" a few years back!! :o :o :o :o
I am only aware of late "K" plate Senator's with 3.0 24v straight sixes as being the last (and only) available, if the Police didn't get them first!! 8-) 8-) Am I right or was their another version made for say the export market???? :-? :-? :-?
I'm baffled! :o ;D ;)
If they do exist I'll have one like NOW!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :y

I know some cars are bought up by the government and stored then not used so get registered years later so it is possible to get a R reg senny, the 3.3 part I have no idea.
-
Couple of the guys on ABS have M-Reg Senny Bs, with later ones rumoured were the police bought the last allocation of shells.
Engine wise. The 3.0 24v was the top spec avaliable over here, with fitz getting the irmscher 3.6 12v and manzel 4.0 24v in limited numbers :y

I thought the last ones were about 93-94 as you say K / L reg

1976?? :o :o :o :o
I didn't think Royale's / Carlton's / Senator's had been introduced then! Not even the (1980) "All New Cavalier" had been put into production at this stage. ;)

The senator was first introduced in 1978 with the monza.

Perhaps one of the best and most interesting models to emerge from the European GM divisions during the 1970's was the Opel and Vauxhall Senator/Monza range. Launched in 1978 the saloon version (the Opel Senator or Vauxhall Royale) was aimed squarely at the Ford Granada. Like the Granada the model was really a full size saloon aimed at executives and large families.
The Monza featured an elegant two door, hatch-back coupe body with a generous amount of interior space. Like the Senator saloon the Monza had a twin Vauxhall version and came with a silky smooth straight six and a choice of manual or automatic transmission.
In some ways the Opel/Vauxhall Senators fulfilled their aim more convincingly than the Granada, interior trim was of a very high standard and looked and felt sumptuous. In later life the Senator family would out live the Ford rival and found favour (in Senator saloon ) with the UK Police forces as the perfect "Traffic Car".

Thanks Jim; great information and you learn something new everyday! :y :y :y :y
Just could not remember Royale's, Carltons, and especially Senator's being around in the 1970's. Thought they were very much 1980's cars! ::) ::) :D ;)
Still doesn't explain the "R" 1976 plate though. :-? :-?
