I was passing trade club Trowbridge this morning so popped in to buy some front brake pads for my Astras. Storeman demanded more information. I said car was a 2008 petrol manual 1.6 estate, not enough, he said. I was of course in an Omega. I have changed the pads in 3 Astra 1.6 cars, a 2004, a 2008 and a 2010, seemed all the same to me.
Chassis number is WOLOAHL3582191434. All I want is a set of trade club front brake pads; do they really differ?

You gave him the chassis number and he couldn't find the correct pads ???

I gave him neither reg. no. or chassis number as I did not think he would need them - I did not have them to hand. I just told him front pads Astra 1.6 manual petrol estate 2008. I don't think with Omega pads I have ever had this trouble, though I have been offered 'original' Omega pads for £60ish, or 'aftermarket' for £14. I had assumed all Astra front pads were the same.

SRis and 2.0 diesels have larger discs iirc ;)

There are now so many different brake set ups on Vauxhall you will need to give the correct in info if you want the correct set. For example if you look up front pads for a Vectra C the are about twenty different numbers.
So can i just ask if you want parts for your car please give the guy a reg number
Cheers
