My energy company is coming this afternoon to fit smart meters …. Hmmmm :-\
-
I keep getting letters advising me that my meter is old and ought to be replaced with a Smart meter, and I have always ignored them.
The last time a meter reader called I asked him if it was compulsory to have one fitted, and he said that the government dictates that energy companies try to get people to change, but I would be better off staying with my old meter and refuse to change.

Got one in our new house it was there when we moved in absolutely trouble free & no problems with readings usage or bills.

The cheap deal I'm on with EDF stated that having a smart meter is part of the deal. I, too, keep ignoring their texts and emails.

Pay As You Go smart meters are good as they top up automatically as soon as you pay in the shop and you don't have to physically put the key or card in the meter to top up the money. :y
