Title: Lappy Hibernation
Post by: Elite Pete on 22 August 2008, 08:08:54
Ive got an old laptop and the battery is duff. My wife used the lappy this morning and its gone into hibernation so she's plugged it into the mains but it wont come out of hibernation. I don't want to turn it off because she hasn't saved the stuff she was working on. Any ideas how to get it out of hibernation?

TIA

how much ram has it got - unless it has massive amounts and a slow disk, I would say its toast :(

as a last resort, it may be worth powering off and back on again in the vain hope it has finished saving the state, and its hung on the actual shutdown.  Unlikely though.

I got a right ear bashing this morning, because its all my fault. What makes me laugh is, it happened last night, and she had to start again, she was making a few adjustments this morning before emailing it to work and she forgot to plug it in, but its still my fault :(

I think that is the ONLY solution  :'(

Now, what application is her work in, many apps autosave, so you may not be knackered yet  :y
