Title: Tata service.
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 31 March 2019, 13:20:56
All done. £224.99.

This included 7.25 litres of  'edge?' 0/20W oil plus filter. New air and pollen filters. Plenty of Mocha coffee and cake and a lift into town for shopping. The trip into town was in a 'small Range Rover' which seemed cheap and nasty from the inside.

The trip back to the dealer was in something called a Velar ........which was much more classy. :y

New genuine bonnet struts fitted under warranty.

Must be really good oil at that price. Or maybe the coffee was really nice ?  ::) ;D

The lesser of two evils I'm afraid..... :-\

The car would lose far more than £225 without a stamp  in the book.

Original quote for the service before negotiation was well over £550..... :o :o

That's a good price M'lud!  :y

I paid about the same for the local garage to put a stamp in the Mundano's book last year...  :(

Although I prefer my new cunning servicing approach. Pay the local ATS about £65 for an oil and filter and fuel filter change and do the air and pollen filter myself. Total about £85, and minimal effort on my part.  :y

New bonnet struts. Will they be an annual consumable.?

I have a friend who gets through boot lid struts each year on his Citroen.

Yeah - I paid more at the local Skoda dealer on its last service!

I make good use of the Jaguar 3+ scheme available for all Jaguar 3 years and older. Works out less than half the usual price.

I imagine the scheme was introduced to stop customers with older cars going to an independent, or some knuckledragger  grease monkey....... :y

Instead going to a dealer full of knuckle dragging grease monkeys that are hid away, and short skirt totties put on show (except my Jag dealer, who is clearly finding all the ugly bints in MK, of which there are many)
