Title: Warranty work on XFR.
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 24 April 2019, 12:49:15
During her annual service early this month the mechanic noticed a slight weep from the rear diff pinion seal.

Cost to repair £456.33.

However, the car is still covered by the remains of a 2 year warranty so the work will be carried out free of charge. :y

They are picking the beast up at 2PM and leaving a RR Evoque for the duration.

It will probably be a 2 litre derv 180. :-X

As a plus, the sight and smell of a shiny new Evoque will cause the sister in law to fall at your feet, must b time for a new laptop anyway?

Central locking fault (twice)

Folding mirror motor replacement.

Weeping rear diff.

The car was also initially fitted with incorrect rear tyres. 255MM when they should be 285MM.

Smaller, still pretty high spec and the recent facelift is a pretty good motor  :y

Impressive that they're taking it in to change the diff seal though, when he could have given it a wipe and you'd have been none the wiser.  :y

Plus you get to test drive all of JLR's products.  :)

Insist on a top of the range Range Rover next time!  ;D

I presume they get paid the same for warranty work.

They have loaned me.

F-Type 5.0 V8 in both two and four wheel guise.

A 3.0S 300 bhp derv XF in a fetching shade of Caesium blue.

A 2.0D 180 XE.

I didn't want to give the F-Type's back. :y

Why?.... ???

Clutch position switch is cheaper than a gear lever position one... Basically it stops the old people from starting it in gear with the other foot on the accelerator ;)

Old people.....hmmmm.

When  pensioners  run out of jizz they take their Jazz to the garden centre for a day out. This is a car that would suit STMO.

Trip computer shows 47.5 mpg. :y

Yep......cheap brittle plastic trims. :-\

......and although it pains me to say it.........yes, a quality derv would be better than a a Honda Jizz.

Like the one who ran into the back of the Mini ('08 Jazz), and based on a friend's wife's experience they must be nigh on impossible to drive because she's always pranging hers into things..

Just did a search, not on the top 1000 so may be restricted to the Ford left overs in the X250

Could probably make an issue of that...
Footage up to the point of disconnect should suffice.

I know the time she left and the time she was returned. Any speeding tickets or CCTV of the car in a red light district have nothing to do with me. ;)

They may say it was accidentally disconnected when giving the interior a vac. ::)

I will check out the existing footage though.

Just had a look.

The old boy who collected the car drove very sensibly although the expression OFFS was regularly used when he encountered traffic build up.

The plug was pulled before the car was taken into the workshop.....and not replaced.... :-\
