Post by: Raeturbo on 24 May 2019, 23:53:08
Anyone know where we can get uprated bushes for our wishbones or what else can be done for the piss poor wishbones I’ve stupidly bought they’ve only been on for about 2000 miles and are like a cock in a sock😒

For the horizontal fronts, I too use powerflex. Fit and forget - although use proper copaslip (ie, the molyslip stuff) rather than the shite powerflex provide, else they will squeak like a bastid after a few months.

For the vertical ones, I stick with GM bushes.

Also change ball joints while your doing the bushes,
On GM wishbones, I have only ever had one balljoint fail.  So I only ever change them if they have play, or are sloppy.

I've swapped wishbones over between cars for various reasons, so TBE's are either its originals from 2003, or they are the wishbones from the Bullet, which I purchased around 2004/5, and put on new balljoints around 2010ish.

Last pair I refurbished on the barge, as you said slight movement on 1 ball joint,  had a pair in stock, so just fully refurbished a pair with new bushes, re-used polys, and new balls joints.

No, I thought the ones I fitted about 1500/ 2000 miles ago would have lasted a bit longer🤬 my own fault I wasn’t on this forum at the time to ask👀
