Title: 46 Celcius in shadow and 88 % humidity
Post by: cem_devecioglu on 24 August 2008, 22:20:46
 :o

We have just returned from vacation (although was not planned) ..

In the last days visited one friend in Alanya (most south of Turkey)

where many tourists stay.. Shocking

In day time temperature was 46 Celcius in shadow and humidty 88 %

Night time even at 01 Am temperature was reaching 36 outside and

same humidty..(inside the home 37-38 C)

In every half hour you need shower or stay in sea..Impossible to live ..

I thought I'll have a heart attack.. But before that we (wife and I)

both had problems with skin..

Now I'm back at home 35 Celcius (inside) but thanks god I feel cold

here and no humidty like that;D

I'm curious how people live there.. :-?

You have my sympathy Cem.

We're all dying off here in the UK from athlete's foot caused by the non stop bleedin' rain.  :(

The last day of our holiday there ,it was 45 degrees with very high humidity. It was unbearable. The only place I have been which was as hot (but not as humid ) was the pyramids at Giza.

36 in spain was painfull enough for me. Thats just torture, even where you are now. Not the same without boots full of mushrooms, green moss and mold for pubic hair, back here in blighty. Still, we'll be due our annual drought soon, or maybe just a hose pipe can this year?

It is the humidity that gives the problems.

July and August are hot in Spain but thankfully it is a dry heat especially away from the coast. 31C today.

I went to the Carribean quite a few years ago. It was really funny watching people filling wine glasses with sweat that suddenly starts pouring from your forehead and down off your nose.

Anything more than 25 C indoors at night is not too good.

A few years ago, my hols in Cyprus, 45C every day. That was a bit warm for me.

Also, a couple of years ago, went up the Nile, that was flippin' hot (apart from the day I had to stay in the room, near the bathroom  :-X)
