Title: Is Opti a disciple of...
Post by: BazaJT on 17 July 2019, 22:32:36
...Doctor Silas Weir Mitchell? He was a Dr. who specialised in neurasthenia in the early 1900s treating patients[mainly women]for this and nervous exhaustion. His treatment consisted mainly of making patients stay in bed not reading/writing/sewing or even sitting up! This was his "Rest Cure"and could last up to two months.More stubborn cases were treated by administering electric shocks while the patient was in a filled bath.In his book Wearand Tear;or,Hints for the Overworked he stated that women "Would do far better if the brain were very lightly tasked" :D Wonder how he'd have got on these days with those views ;D

I suspect that Lord Opti has heard the line "Not tonight dear I have neurasthenia" a few times, so he probably is an expert and knows a better cure for it!  :y

Overloading of the smaller female brain has been a problem for decades. Sadly there is still no cure. :)
