I know a bloke who has spent most of this year welding up the one he's used for work for as long as I can remember.
I wonder how many are left?

Wow look at that! 8) :)
Identical to my Dad's Marina pickup that I passed my driving test in. :y
-
I used to tell the girls that I had a 'little two seater' that I could take them home in, but their enthusiasm seemed to wane a little when they clapped eyes on my Dad's scruffy pick up for some reason.... :-\
;D
-
I would have thought that would be exactly what a Darzet girl would imagine to be a little two seater. ;D

I see it is appropriately finished in BRG to show of it's racing heritage and fine handling. :)

There was supposed to be an orange 1.3 coupe at the same sale :y
-
A "Dukes of Darzett" car? ;D ;D

Oh yes there was plenty of 'fine handling'! :)

They were dire enough handling as a car. God knows what it was like with the back end full of rubble. I bet you'd lose your load* on every roundabout.
* - No, not that kind of load. :o

I imagine the inept handling of the Marina could result in terminal bowel excavation, thus lightening the load in a different way. :)
-
Fecal impaction is easily overcome once the Marina runs out of grip. :)

When I was 19 I had nerves of steel, so whipping a Marina around the lanes of East Devon and West Dorset at ridiculous speeds was just normal, so there were no fecal accidents. :y
30 odd years later it seems slightly unhinged though.... :-\ ;D

We're just jealous because only the lucky few get to own an iconic car like a Marina. :)

Very true M'lud! :y
I was doubly lucky in that I did my driving lessons, took my test and then got to borrow my Dad's Marina pickup, before going on to buying my very own Marina Coupe! :)
What a lucky lucky bastard I was! :D

Very luck indeed! After that introduction to motoring, every car since must seem like your driving a Rolls Royce. ;D

Not sure 'Darzett' girls count as tottie......Sir Tig would have needed to drug them first before getting them into the Marina. :)

I'm not sure Rohypnol had been invented back then.... :-\
If it was around, I didn't know about it, and had no need for it, as they were queuing up for a ride in the Marina Coupe 1800TC! :)
