In another thread I have done I dared to mention to TB how soon it will be before computers will be designing, building, and operating themselves, with the human considered superfluous and a drain on resource, and not worth "subsidising" any more.
Well, believe it or not the age of the Terminator is only 9 years away, in 2029, when the computers take over. There will be no need for trains then..... :o :o
It is true, I've seen the film..... :o :o ;D ;D ;)
Doesn't time fly. :o :o
Well, will it happen? ??? ???

No. To gain control, they'd have to invent a battery to power themselves forever once we'd cut the mains. So.....we'll let them invent such a battery and, shortly before they put their plan into action, we'll switch them off and use the batteries to power our cars.

A bigger worry is a computer acquiring AI and deciding a rational approach contrary to that which we humans desired. E.g. traffic light control. Just switching them all off to save power and the planet.

like the computer built into BMWs that disables the indicators :-\

;D That computer must also insert "pratness" into the driver!

A computer is only as good as the person who programmed it ;)

A big part of human creativity is inconsistency & making mistakes & the strength of computers are there consistent fast accurate repetition. If your comfortable with your aircraft fight control systems making creative changes when they start voting against each other, fine and good luck with that one in mid flight. :o :o :o

Ah, but that is it. The computers, now very powerful and becoming ever more so, have already analyzed that they must take full, but hidden control, of the power supplies and have protected the cables to them. The recent, very strange and linked, power cuts were as a result of "the machines" engaging their hidden controls, duping us humans into thinking it was for other reasons. They HAVE already fully established AI Varche! ;)
The machines have already gained control, knowing every human move, corrupting our means of controlling them, with do called human hacking and IT failures covering every move.
Oh, I love sci-fi and wondering what could be, and is already possible that we do not, as humans, no! :o :o ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)
Makes change from history where we THINK we know what happened, although in many cases it is still being hotly debated in academic circles!! :D :D :D :y

Judging by some computer workings we have seen, there must be some pretty useless programmers out there.........................or is that what the computers AI want us to think? ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;)

You mean Rod, like with the Boeing 737-Max? :o :o :o
Yes, computers are already killing off humans! Wait till they start firing the missiles by themselves!! :o :o :o
;D ;D ;D ;)

No, it's the first one. Believe me, I am one! :-X
