I wanted to cut some thin metal. you don't need to know why. In B&Q I spotted a sort of kit that included what looked like pretty strurdy tin snips. It was about the same price a tin snips on their own.
However, it came with some other gizmo. I have no idea what the other gizmo does. Looks like some kind if thing for making holes but also has a screwdriver head set.
Any enlightenment out there ?
Website calles it "Aviation Snips" but on the pack it's "Metal Frame Set"

Looks like some kind of hole punch?
-
Yes for making holes in the metal you’ve cut with the snips, and the screwdriver set is for you to put screws into them holes to hold your creation together.

A new Tin Hat :D
They ARE coming for me you know ::)
Actually, fitting a new cooker hood. The vent is bigger than the old one so chopping up tin cans to fill the gap. No, I do not want to make the hole in the wall bigger. Wall is stone and over 50cms thick.

It looks like a punch for creating holes for plug welding

I'm not sure aviation snips is an accurate description of the ones you bought, Rog:

Aviation snips have a compound pivot, unlike traditional snips that look like big scissors. If you use aviation snips a lot then you want all three, but yellow ones will do for occasional use. They wear out, so beware of buying cheap used ones.

Probably not, which may be why they were in a sale. But they seem to do what I require.
As for the other thing . . . . ? It's not just the thing for making holes there's a thing for holding screwdriver bits, but I have no idea what it's meant to fit. Sod it, into a drawer somewhere then.

Tried my new Aldi tin snips the other day. Marvellous.
And only £3.99.
Place freaks me out though. Tools next to frozen pizza and veg. 😦😦😦

I just had a look at Rog's B&Q link and scrolled down to 'Frequently Bought Together'...... ???
Apparently Rog should have bought a spade with his Aviation Snips! ::)
Now what job could you possibly need a spade and aviation snips for? ??? :-\ ;D

Yes he's telling us it's for a cooker hood, but clearly he's dug out the BREXIT bunker with the spade, laid a new patio on top and the snips are for the ventilation shaft. ;) ;D

Twenty gallons of battery acid and a waterbutt is probably more suspicious :D
