To quote the famous words of Mr Mannering "stupid boy".
How do you hit the same finger twice :-/ ::)
I hit my thumb very bad some years back when i was a Steel Fabby & that took ages to right itself.
Just don't do it for a third time :D

The idea is to learn from your mistakes ;D

When I used to do a real job, yes, was frequently hitting the 'wrong nail' - and if it was running cables around those post war council houses, bloody hard brick/mortar, a good swing was the norm...

I find that if I tw*t my finger wiv a nammer, A quick hit on the shin makes the pain in my finger virtually unnoticeable. :y

As an apprentice at work I was working away with a hammer when a sexy young lass shouted me for a call out, as I went out her gaffer (female) was marching up to hear me just say that she had caused me to whack my thumb and make it throb. Instantly har gaffer made a really rude suggestion as she fiddled with her overall and said she knew of a way to stop it throbbing. ::) ::)

Stuff hammers, how about dragging the bathroom door back on your little toe? That's pain. :'(

Well when i was younger my dad was working on a roof on site (dad was a carpenter) and whilst banging in extremely long nails with a huge amount of force smashed his thumb....amazing didnt break it but nail went very deep red/purple very quickly and hammer went flying across building site (shouldn't laugh but christ it was funny).
That night he was in so much pain with thumb nail so swollen he put thumb in vice and cut across the nail with hack saw.....thought he hit a vein the blood squirt that much....but worked as he released the pressure, didnt help with his bad mood much mind. ;D

The worst pain I have even experienced was when I was a kid playing football in the house (t'was a big country cottage and I was only 10)
went to wallop the ball down the hallway and into the games room and missed the ball clipping the door frame corner with 3 of the toes on my right foot. Broke all 3 and dislocated 2.
Now I play rugby ;)

I remember when some of the blokes in work wrapped up a piece of steel in a load of paper and wrapped a load of tape around it to form a ball, it weighed about a kilo, some guy walked up to it and gave it a big kick and ended breaking his big toe

I find it far better to get someone else to hold the nail/chissel etc while i hit it, amazing it never hurts me when i miss :y
