Title: Heater was not working, now is.
Post by: Duke01 on 27 October 2019, 15:57:22
I've had a lukewarm heater for a while, so I flushed the matrix out today and it was then stone cold.
Pipes hot. No vac from hbv.
On the way home the heater suddenly came on hot, so was this an air lock?
I'm very happy but puzzled....

Almost certainly.

The system is technically self bleeding, but...

Always refill/bleed as follows:

Fill to max, leave cap off.
Set heater to Hi, both sides. Fan on lowest setting.
Start engine and allow to idle.
When radiator fan cuts in second time, switch engine off.
Top up header and refit cap.
Set heater as above, and repeat.

Check level.
Done.
