Hi folk. Started to renew rocker gasket and clean breathers today. It’s been an off and on  job with rain. As you can see in photo there are the 4 breather pipes. What is the other pipe in my hand. I don’t remember taking it off anything and I can’t see where it might connect to. It was tucked away and goes down towards the bell housing.
Also I noticed another pipe which is routed under brake servo and out into wheel arch. There is a join just where it exits and this had come apart also. I can reconnect this but wondered on its purpose.
All comments greatfully received.

If the pipe was poked down the back of the engine it will be the gearbox breather pipe. It doesn't connect to anything at the top so just place it out of harms way.  :y

Ah thanks. That’s a relief!!

Thought the gearbox one had a loop at the end so that it pointed down to prevent water ingress :-\

Reconnect the one to the wing. It connects the charcoal canister to the purge valve. Leaving it off will create a massive airleak every time the ecu opens the valve :y

......

Straight gearbox breather pipe on both of mine, although protecting from water ingress would make sense they weren't supplied with a loop on either of mine.  :y

Perhaps the loop was implied :-\

Gearbox breather on mine has a curve on the end so the last inch or two of pipe points downwards.

Thanks everyone will put a loop on as there is plenty of water around the scuttle! And thanks for the heads up on the pipe going to purge. Without you all I would have given up years ago.

The curve on the end of the pipe on mine was definitely pre-formed at manufacture. The first time I removed plenum it confused the hell out of me too as I couldn't work out where it was supposed to connect to until I found out it doesn't connect to anything.

Double check that it does actually connect to the gearbox casing ;)

PFL doesnt, it's straight - maybe a MFL/FL thing? I always try and 'aim' mine out of harms way for potential water ingress, too. Mind haven't seen it in ages, it's disappeared inside that black spaghetti somewhere! Don't care, I've got bigger fish to fry right now!  :y
