Title: Paperless
Post by: pauls on 17 January 2020, 12:27:43
Can my company force me to use they app to send me a copy of my pay slip every month.

I have told them I want my usual paper one and basically they have said tough.

Ask for it to be emailed to you.

EDIT

I think it's unreasonable for them to expect you to install an app on your personal phone. If it's a work phone, who cares?

The company is legally obliged to provide access to a payslip, this can be paperless or electronic.

They are not obliged to provide a paper one if an electronic one is available, so sadly yes.

I am rather surprised they are only just going electronic to be honest, I don't think I have had a paper pay slip for close on 18 years!  :y

That's the point I dont want it emailed. I want a pay slip. Also that means I have to print it every month which is my ink and paper.

Print it at work, using works printers and works time. If you really must have a paper copy.

I have to ask, why do you need a paper copy at all?  Unless you are applying for a mortgage or something similar. I haven't even looked at my payslips for months. The amount is the same, the deductions are the same and I refuse to do overtime.

We get both (paper and electronic) at work after enough people complained after the transition to paperless - they are outsourced to ADP who a) couldn't write a decent mobile app if they tried and b) think the world still uses Internet Explorer 8 (the website doesn't work on Firefox, Chrome, Safari or even Edge - just Internet Explorer) which is brilliant when 50% of the company uses Macs.. ;D A cross-browser solution has been "coming soon" for five years.

So .... You've been to Wigan then .....  ;D

I keep taking the p*** and suggest we should get paid monthly like the rest of the world! I get met with 'NOooo!! I'd never manage my money  ;D ;D

They'd save a fortune in postage alone. 12 instead of 52 a year  :)

I have one website for clocking in and out, and another for my payslips ::)

My sideline pays weekly (if I get called out) and the payroll company they use email the payslips.
