Does the BBC news have a comments section? If it does, I don't think that lads family would enjoy reading it.  :)

Excellent  :)
I do feel sorry for the Garage owner ,having his ramp tied up by the police investigating  ,loss of business  :(
and the member of staff who found the body  ,assuming that member of staff didn't kick the jack out in the first place  :P

I thought scrapyards had been told to stop taking these without proof of name address, under threat of losing their operating license.

Easy to forge records , plenty of "rag n bone" scrap collectors round these parts collecting metal ,even without the owners permission  ;D
sold Mrs Builder's old astra estate to a "we pay cash and collect" scrap man , then notified DVLA on-line

I believe they can't be paid cash now  by scrap yards  ,so there is a paper trail  ::)
but lots of business is still done using "real money"

best prices for catalytic converters are from specialist buyers like WARR (https://www.warrmidlands.com/about)  ;)
not that i'm implying anything Uncle Stemo  ;D

I have zero sympathy with anyone,s demise while they are in the act of stealing. Luck of the draw. I suppose that there will be a vigil for the scrote and friends coming on social media to say he what wonderful chap he was.

Back in the early '80s I worked at a main dealership and one night I was the last to leave the workshop so I turned the lights off, locked the doors and went home. The following morning I was called to the office and asked if that's exactly what I'd done so said yes it was.I was then told that if at any time in the future I was last to leave I had to leave at least one light on.When I asked why I was told it was in case someone broke in overnight and got hurt by not being able to see where they were going/what they were doing they could sue the garage for damages :o

Chap at our place had his Cat cut off his Prius in the works car park so he had it replaced. Two weeks later they returned and cut his new Cat off, but this time they dented his door when they let the trolley jack handle fly up. All caught on cctv but they don't care. They target certain vehicles (Toyota Prius being one of them) as some have more platinum in apparently.
I'll show him this story and I'm sure he'll be full of sympathy ........ not.  :y

I don't have sympathy for a Prius owner.

I'm not a fan myself so yes, I agree that they deserve some form of comeuppance.  ;D

Crushing news for his wife.

He won't be married. He'll have father'd 4 kids with 3 women, each of whom will have spawn'd 4 kids with 3 fathers, but he will be salt of the earth a great father, son, step father and grand father.
