Title: front passenger window switch
Post by: Toledodude1973 on 05 February 2020, 21:55:50
After interior light / switch problem solved i now have another the passenger front window switch no longer operates the window . I can operate it from drivers side so motor seems ok. After reading back on here is it more than just the passenger switch , any thoughts please thank you

Passenger switch is the likeliest candidate if it works from the driver side.  ;)

Thanks DG  tried removing switch to maybe clean the contacts but could only get main piece out and not able to disconnect the grey plug bit to allow me to see it in the light, is there a knack to this?

Took switch out and apart, cleaned contacts ,reassembled and then tried it in car.  Firstly didn't help with window operation, but after operating nearside front window using drivers side window switch it  would go down but not up again!    Strangely to my luck/surprise the only way to get window to go up was to have drivers door open ,then operate drivers side window switch ! Passenger switch still wouldn't work even with drivers door open ......any ideas please

OK, you have a break in the passenger feed from the drivers door.

Firstly check that the plug is correctly seated and test again.
Then...
Unplug the door and peel back the rubber boot, the break in the insulation should become obvious.

Removing the door will significantly improve access, two pins and the check strap, but you will need an assistant as it's heavy. Remove the door card if you do this in case you need access inside the door

Peeled back rubber cover near door hinge to expose wiring, all seemed ok , i've now realised if i raise /lower switch on drivers side i can move passenger window up and down (fiddling quickish with switch as such)with drivers door shut ,passenger switch still no go ,any thoughts please :-\

Inspect the loom and plug better as there is clearly a break in the loom at the drivers door.

Doc when you say unplug loom does one end come away from door? i took black round cover off and exposed bunch of cables after peeling back rubber towards car pillar but had limited room for inspection ,i really want to avoid door off as help is not always forthcoming ::) thanks again

It's been a while since I had my Omega, but IIRC the screw collar holds the plug in position ie you undo the collar so far & then the plug pulls out
