link to youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-r7RBSfYTkk)
Car Throttle (a youtube channel , a bit like a pound shop version of Top gear) had £500 to buy a cheap car
so the bid and won DV03LYW £500 + fees
77,571 miles
MOT valid until 2 May 2020
Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):
Coolant leak ()
Nearside Rear Brake pipe corroded, covered in grease or other material (1.1.11 (c))
Offside Rear Brake pipe corroded, covered in grease or other material (1.1.11 (c))
Front exhaust deteriorated
Rear exhaust deteriorated
Offside Front body damaged (front wing)
should be interesting watching the videos on this Omega
what they do to it etc :)
half a tank of petrol I guess covers the + fees overspend ;D :D
looks like a nice car if they put a wing on
they probably need to spend a few quid sorting out the faults between the front and rear number plates too :-\

Auction fees are not insignificant.
Only 2 months MOT before a big bill sends it to be cubed. :)

nothing on the MOT history to say it's days are numbered
coolant leak would want sorting ASAP ,but that may have been done post 2019 MOT
I expect, having watched other car throttle videos ,they will take it for "inspection" see what's wrong

Yeah.....but the MOT was 10 months ago. Sod's law says the car will be well and truly f*ucked come the next MOT. :)

it's done 1600 miles in 10 months
which, looking at the history, has been pretty consistent low miles for years
But as we know ,some NTs (MOT testers ) rush and don't prod too much ,other NTs seem to see the MOT test as a personal challenge to find as many faults and advisories they can ;D
Also....
the MOT means the car meets minimum standards for brakes , suspension etc (a car is allowed "some play" in steering and suspension components etc and still pass ) BUT we know the big Vauxhall handles like an fat lass on a cheap waterbed IF the steering and suspension has any "play" :P
it will be interesting to see what happens and their take on the OMEGA

Part 2 clicky (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j264iSMCQ_o) quick wash and hoover out ::)
can't say I've ever needed/wanted to lick a car to see how clean or dirty it is :P
had they checked the manual (ok, I haven't either ::)), they would know the "S" button is to spend all available funds* on fuel
*available funds , calculated by the WTS (wallet thickness sensor) in the base of the driver seat :y
-
Looks like its about to butchered and most likely scrapped after they've done what they want for the sake of a shitty stunt.
-
I'd be checking it all over to see what it needs BEFORE doing any cleaning ;D
but then the cleaning was free ,to promote the valet company ;D
the mind boggles as to what they will do with it
it's a comfy load lugger, not a drift missile, race car etc
the only fun to be had will be trying to drive it faster than 40 with those tyres and 17 year old suspension :P

To be fair to them, it looked like it was heading for the knackers yard before they got their hands on it.
And a Desmond CDX is hardly the pinnacle of the breed. ;D

Did they say at the end of the clip that they are making it into a pick-up?
-
They did indeed. No doubt (very loosely) inspired by the Maloo. :y
Personally I quite like a ute 8)

So they did :-[
I was on the phone and missed that bit at the end when i watched it the first time
there's a lot more to making a pick up out of an estate than hacking the back half of the roof off with an axe ::)
and to be used on the road again ,IIRC it would need IVA test etc
what a shame , unless they do it properly ,which is unlikely
Omega farm truck anyone ? :'(

I hope they do make a Maloo
not a Malignant-Poo

well part 4 clicky (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHsr1VyeUro)
from bad to worse :'(
surely TB should step in and bump these c***s to near the top of the cull list
i'll dig the trench and supply the concrete :D

Not looking, I hate them.

So they had their fun and now it's for sale on ebay
clicky ebay (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-Omega-pickup-truck-/254620772075?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10)
MOT till November but no mention that it would be illegal to use on the roads etc
though describing the hatchet job of "mods" to an insurer ,they would probably laugh and put the phone down
currently 5 bidders :o (I expect 3 of those are the idiots who ruined it ) £310 with 3 days left to go
maybe a farmer wants it to use on private land :-\ or bidders don't realize it's no longer a viable vehicle to use on the road
such a shame, i really like that colour blue too, spectral blue ?

I sometimes drive over to my Mums by back roads and there has been a 3.0l saloon of that colour parked in a very overgrown properties driveway. This car hasn't moved for quite a few years now, so it will probably fall to bits when anyone finally tries to move it. :D
