say "I'm from Northern Ireland "? Just watching a crappy show on BBC1 and a very nice young lady came on and said just that. Are they afraid that, apart from Belfast, we won't have heard of anywhere else?
F**k my old boots. Another girlie just came on and announced that she was "From Scotland". ;D

If you ask someone who comes from Cullybackey where they are from ,they can probably safely assume you wont have a clue where that is, so are likely to just say Norn Irn.
Also, to reply "Northern Ireland", is a subtle indicator of someone from the loyalist side of the fence, as a republican would reply "Ireland", or possibly "the north of Ireland", as they don't tend to recognise Northern Ireland as a country.
See, its easy really.
