Title: Disposing of a 17 plate Ford Fiesta
Post by: Varche on 20 March 2020, 19:23:47
Looking for some advice please on obtaining a reasonable price for my Dads car when this "CV19 crisis" is finished. His driving days have ended.

Good points.

17 plate Fiesta
No hurry as I shall be using it for some time
Nice paint colour
Interior fine
Nice highish spec
only less than 12000 miles
New recent clutch
not buying anything else

Bad points
some bodywork damage to passenger side and rear end from parking encounters.

How would you determine the price to not go below?
Best medium for advertising such a vehicle?

WBAC is the easiest and safest option, I used them to get rid of a van recently, yes you get less than retail but it worth it to not have to deal with pondlife and timewasters.

Phone call to the deal being done was about an hour and they couldn't have been more pleasant, maybe go for a no obligation quote ?

Obviously, now isn't the ideal selling time. But who knows how long this hysteria will go on.

I guess it depends on if a 3-6 month delay on selling is too long, plus I suspect there will be some stinking deals on certain cars brand new...

...or the WBAC thing of taking it too them, and walking away with lower figure than the car is worth, but its instant and hassle free.

My daughter wants to replace her Car later in the year, but her budget is somewhat at the level where you'd laugh.
She's looking at 11 plate fiestas which retail around £3k
Mind you there's going to be a lot of giffer cars for sale in the next few months and a recession, so if you would take £4k now, and store it inside?
